Family-favorite Green Smoothie

DifficultyBeginner

It's been a family favourite for so long, and a big reason why we all like 'green'! 😉

If you’ve been around since little guy was the one still in diapers, you’ve probably seen your fair share of green ‘thmovies’ on this page! đŸ„° For some reason, we haven’t made any smoothies of any sort ever since we moved to Paris đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž I blame the weather 😉 but last weekend Theo and I suddenly remembered & craved them. So our first green thmovie in Paris, and Simsom’s first too is a good excuse to share this family favorite recipe with you! đŸ„°

It is very versatile & I often change it up based on what I have, but here are the basics: greens (spinach or kale or both), creamy (bananas, and/or avocados), sweet (also bananas, ripe!, or a dash of honey), fresh/zesty (green apples, oranges, kiwi, pineapple..) stick to this formula & you’ll end up with a one you’ll actually enjoy!  Nutritional additions: any seeds or nuts you like.

Here’s what went into this one

Yields3 Servings
Prep Time5 mins
1 cup spinach, fresh or frozen, or de-stemmed kale
 1 large ripe banana
 1 kiwi
 1 greeen apple
 2 tbsp walnuts
 2 tbsp flaxseeds
2 cups cold water(or add ice if needed)

You can add a bit of honey or maple at the end to your preference but for us we all loved it as is, perfect balance between creamy rich & soury fresh 😋

Oh & don’t forget to save some for little popsicle molds.. tiny humans are known to not be able to resist soothing refreshing & nourishing snack when all others fail

Here's what it'll look like, and also what our kitchen looks/sounds like on a weekend morning!
