Flaky, crunchy and cheesy.. If you're looking for a nutritious substitute for the kid-favorite gold fish crackers, this is it!

This is another cracker recipe that quickly became a popular one & is one of my personal favorites, comes in very close to the whole wheat zaatar cracker! 😉
It really satisfies that craving for salty cheese munchies. It is gluten free but can also be made with other flour options, and is pretty easy to make.
Flaky, crunchy, cheesy, and most importantly meets the criteria for joining the nourishing cracker family: nutritious and filling! They the perfect substitute for those store goldfish crackers that kids love so much, and are simply such a delight to snack on.
Mix the flour, cheese, ground flax seeds, and salt in a food processor.
Add the butter and run till they crumble.
Add the oil and water gradually and mix just enough for the dough to come together.
You can do the process by hand, rubbing in the butter until it crumbles with the flour, then adding the wet. If the dough was too soft, chill it for 15mins.
Roll out into a thin layer, cut using cookie cutters into the sizes and shapes you like, and bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius for 10-12 mins until golden. Let them cool down completely before storing.
