The Best ‘Healthier’ Banana Bread

Seriously the tastiest banana bread you've had. Bonus: naturally-sweetened, wholegrain, simple ingredients!

Seriously, it's the best!! This has been on my family favorite's list for years now, and it also is for many of you who have been following me on Instagram. It is such a winner! Clean simple ingredients, fully naturally-sweetened, one-bowl easy to make.. you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry right now. No wonder I find myself whipping a batch up any time I see ripe bananas on the counter!

It looks a bit tanner than your average banana bread due to the honey and wholewheat, but don't let that fool you. It's got the same moisture, fluffiness and sweetness like the best of them! 😉 In fact, the honey & wholewheat add lots of depth to the flavor and feel. Try it out and I'm sure it'll makes it in to your favorites recipe book.

 ½ cup honey
  cup melted coconut oilor melted butter or mild olive oil
 2 eggs
 2 large very ripe bananas, mashed
  cup almond milk, or other milk of choice
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 1 ⅓ cups whole wheat floura mix of buckwheat & oat flour works well for a GF version
 1 tsp baking soda
 ¼ tsp salt
 1 tsp cinnamon
 1 pinch nutmeg
optionals add-ins
 ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  cup raisins
  cup chopped walnuts, seeds etc..

Mix the honey & oil well until fully incorporated.

Add eggs, bananas, milk, vanilla & spices. Then mix in the flour, baking soda and salt.

Fold in your add-ons of choice if using, pour into a greased loaf tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 170 degrees Celsius (150 if using an electric fan oven) for around 40-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
